This habitat enhancement project for the City of Mountlake Terrace was necessary to relocate Lyon Creek away from Cedar Way just north of the intersection of Cedar Way and NE 205th Street. The project involved the installation of fish barriers; safe removal of fish from the work area; temporary creek bypass pumping and piping; excavation of a new creek channel east of Cedar way, installing LWD’s (Large Woody Debris) and import – placement of river sediment materials while creating new creek riffles and pools within the new creek channel.
